What's In Your DIY Kit?

We’ve hand-selected over a dozen colour & size variations and combined them with our high-quality resin. Upon order, we’ll package and ship straight to your doorstep.

  • Your choice of loose stone
  • A clear premium resin binder

Easy as...

  • 1 - Prep

Prepare the base by marking every square meter, counting the batches needed, masking & gloving up.

  • 2 - Mix

Empty your new stones into a tub or wheelbarrow, pour the resin formula into the stones and mix well. Only mix one kit at a time and work with that kit until you run out to move onto the next.

  • 3 - Lay

Spread the mix and level out with a trowel. Once flat, protect the coat from any wet weather for at least 24 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I receive both the stone and resin?

Yes, you do! You choose your desired stone and we’ll package the best suited resin for them. If you wish to only order the resin, you may want to check out our Gravel Binder option instead.

Can I use a mixer?

You can use a powered hand mixer to mix the stone and resin in a seperate larger bucket. Otherwise you can also use your hands wearing some protective elbow length gloves.

Can I lay over concrete?

Existing and new concrete makes a great base material for StoneSet DIY Kits. Just ensure new concrete has been laid for 28 days prior to install and old concrete is in good condition with no moving cracks as these will reflect through to the StoneSet DIY Kit surface.

What about joints and saw cuts?

All joints must be reflected through to the finished surface. This can be reflected with a saw cut or angle and neoprene joint. Ensure saw cuts are followed through accurately and backfill with mastic if desired.

Are DIY Kits covered by the StoneSet 10 year guarantee?

No. StoneSet offer a full 10 year guarantee for supply and installation projects using our fully bound, overlay and porous paving system completed by an approved StoneSet installer.

Is it suitable for use on a driveway?

Unfortunately our DIY Kits have not been made suitable for driveways, it is actually our Premium UVR blends that are suitable. Find out more here

How long will it last?

The design life of the resin is in excess of 5 years. The life of the finished surface is dependent on the quality of installation, level of use and base stability. A quality install could last in excess of 10 years.

Is the resin dangerous?

Once cured the resin is a completely inert material, meaning it is safe and has no negative impact to the surrounding areas. In fact, by creating a porous surface it offers some great benefits in waterway pollution and stormwater management. In liquid form the resin should be handled with care and the safety data sheet should be read prior to use. Always wear gloves when handling and a mask when pouring resin.

Can I use DIY Kits on vertical surfaces?

Our DIY one-part polyurethane resin has not been designed to offer adhesion to surfaces above 35 degrees.

For any vertical surfaces you will need to use our VertiStone product which is a combination of our 1K Primer and Vertical Binder Kits.
